The countless days, weeks and months away from your family trying to get information to save American lives while having to deal with the people in the corridors back home making every move a tedious process with layer upon layer of approvals.

Hopefully, people will read the book who matter and will take action before some worse events occur such as 9-11.

The enemy is not resting. It is planning and lying in wait. Will we sleepwalk until it happens?

This book is an interesting read and informative. What is troubling however, is someone might get the impression that Mr. Jones manifests, at times,the profile of a narcissist and know-it-all unwilling to see any merits in the aspects of tradecraft he found cumbersome or apparently any worth in non-operational jobs in the overal CIA division of labor; for example the requirement to obtain permission before initiating a contact with a prospective source may well be to prevent the compromise or scaring-off of a source even deeper and more compartmented that Mr.Jones or perhaps to find background information to assist in approaching the source. How Mr. Jones could be so sure, and simply summarily declare that his cover had not been blown is also amazing as he himself notes that it could have well been blown from several different sources and in different ways without his knowing about it in his compartmented operational status and work.
